October 9th – October 12th, DON’T MISS OUT on HILLFEST! HILLFEST is a spectacular Jazz Festival featuring workshops, jam sessions, panel discussions and over 25 different performances. Just a few of the anticipated performers include:
- Lori Williams (Amazing jazz vocalist)
- Rodney Whitaker (Internationally renowned musician and Jazz Bassist and Distinguished Professor of Jazz Bass at Michigan State University)
- The Herb Scott Quintet (Herb Scott is a wonderful saxophonist and musician)
- Reginald Cyntje (A phenomenal trombonist and DESA’s Director of Jazz)
and
- Bobby Felder and the Capital Jazz All Stars (Bobby Felder is a legendary DC Jazz trombonist, musician and educator)
The majority of the activities are free but donations are welcomed and appreciated! Hillfest is sponsored, in part, by the Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation. The Founder and Executive Director of Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation is none other than, DESA alumni, Herb Scott! We hope you’ll come out and support Hillfest, Capital Hill Jazz Foundation and their efforts to promote and assist Jazz musicians, Jazz venues, Jazz education programs and arts advocacy.
